Friday, the 13th - Knock on Wood!

I am not a superstitious person. But I'll take the opportunity to "equalize" the perceived bad luck of the 13th. So join me in knocking on wood, please! After 13 months of wanting/trying to sell my rental home, I actually got 2 solid offers last Friday, and I accepted one! I keep telling myself not to count my chickens yet, but I'm soo thrilled - finally! It's scheduled to close on the 21st of November, so I just want it to stay together through all the inspections that have to take place. The realtor that I'm working with suggested that I re-do the flooring and have the interior re-painted, to freshen it up. So Jared helped me in a huge way by overseeing/coordinating that effort, even doing a lot of the work himself. The house was officially re-listed last Monday - a week ago! And 5 days later, we had a contract! Please, please, please let it stick!

Next topic? On Saturday I had a little reunion of some mission friends. We decided that we need to meet more often than every 26 years. It was really fun to talk about those days, look at pictures and see how young we looked! How do parents let their children go on missions when they're sooo young? We put on a Joe's BBQ spread, Becky made potato salad, and we just had a good time - till 10:30 when we all realized that the next day was church and we are just a little too old to be up so late. We will try to get together again in March with a few more people! Good times!

Next? Mom and I are going to Dallas this Friday, till Monday. I'm having my crown "set", and we'll also do some visiting. Should be nice weather.

Next? Earthquake in Hawaii! What? We are still trying to get over there in December, so it made me wonder if this was a sign. I emailed the owner of the house we are renting and he says everything is fine. So assuming that they can get the power on before December, I'm so there!

Next? No baby yet for Jeffrey and Alisha. I'm hoping she can wait until after we get back from Dallas, and so is she. Her mother is coming on the 24th. The actual due date is the 29th, I think. It's so exciting to see what she looks like! I haven't seen the nursery yet, but I think she's done it in pinks and browns - very popular these days. Reminds me of Baskin-Robbins! Yummy!

So I've been reading all the blogs from the family to the north and keeping up with your lives. Sounds like the Freibergs have been busy with braces and bicycles, the Ritchies are busy with family coming and going, the Wolffs - hiking the canyon and hookers? The Christensens - shopping and surgery, and the Palmers - roadtrips and restaurants. I'm hoping that I can make it for the Banff outing, but don't know how long I can stay. If I come at all, it may be a quickie trip.

No photos - home computer still weird! And I can't upload any photos on my computer at work. Sorry! See you later!

Yay for your house. We'll say a prayer for you. Banff would be awesome even if it's just a quickie.

I hope the contract sticks for your house. I'll say my prayers for you. I sure wish I could join the Banff trip. The power is on in Hawaii. My sister in Law's parents are there serving a mission. They said their power is back on already. Love you.

Wow, so much info in your blog. Thanks for the update. Hope everyone is doing good in Arizona. Victor got Thanksgiving time off of work, so we are going to attempt to head home for Thanksgiving, providing nothing crazy happens between now and then. We are thinking of leaving Tues afternoon and return home to Utah Sun or Mon. We shall see.
