Spinning Plates

Yes, I've been a little blog-lazy lately, but it's only because I've been busy. Things at work have picked up considerably, still not swamped, but enough to make the days pass a little quicker. I have several big issues on my plate: work (of course), selling the house, preparing a lesson for combined YM/YW on Sunday, trying to figure out how to get what I want for my birthday. Now I know these don't constitute serious problems, and I didn't say they were. It's just keeping my brain busy. I always refer to this as "keeping the plates spinning". If you've ever been to the circus, you will know what I mean. I spent Tuesday evening at Mutual, wishing every second that I could just go home and work on my lesson. Then last night we went out to see Jillian for the first time. She is so beautiful! I can't wait for her to start pudging out so I can squeeze her. You know what I mean. As a side note, Mom and I went to Dallas last weekend, and I gave Alisha strict instructions to wait until we got home before having the baby. She was very disobedient. She actually went into labor (that's labour for the Canadians) at about the same time we got up to go to the airport. So back to last night, we couldn't stay too long, because I had to get back for a YW Board Meeting. The meeting was necessary, but again, I just wanted to get home. I finally did get home, at 10:30. Right to bed. I don't pretend to be any busier than anyone else, especially those of you who have children added into the mix.

The Dallas visit was nice - beautiful weather. I actually started a blog entry while I was there, but it became the victim of a "loss of connection". I was a little frustrated, so didn't try to re-create it. While in Dallas, Mom and I went to a BBQ place that has been there forever. I don't remember it. I have seen it on Bobby Flay and Rachel Ray - it's called Sonny Bryan's BBQ. I have to say, it was so good. Well worth the trip. We drove around some of the old neighborhood, past the house on Cortez. It's still a really cute house. The current owners have put up a little fence around the front, and there are 2 really big trees in the front yard. That's how you know you are getting old - all the trees are huge! I may have mentioned this before, but I'm going to say it again - I basically know my way around Dallas, I just don't know the names of the streets. It's a little bizarre. We also visited with Jess and Mary, Jordan, MaryJane, Ed and Julie, Edward and Andrea and their boys. I have to say I'm so proud of Uncle Ed! He actually reads the blogs, and he's anxious to start blogging. So he may be posting soon on the Corbett Family sight. If he were really adventurous, he would create his own. But being such a good writer, I'll read wherever he posts. There is lots of excitement for the family reunion - lot's of anticipation.

Ok, I'm done for now. Hope to read you soon!

Hey Jude,
I just logged onto your blog and enjoyed reading up on your life. You are a busy girl. I've been through the YW experience and it was truely a second job. I am now enjoying Activity Days which is twice a month for an hour each. I actually get to go to all the meeting on Sunday (if the kids are emotionally stable enough to endure nursery/Sunbeams.)
Love you,
